Update for February 2024

Thought I was going to miss out on a month? Nope. How could I miss a whole extra day?? No way. Not happening.

Been twiddling with the Apple Vision Pro as my new potential totally immersive writing experience…I’m loving it. That will probably be where I do most of my work in the future. I intend to sit on my comfy new couch (when it comes in a few weeks from now) and clack away.

So since I’ve been vague as of late, let me run everyone down on what I’ve been tweaking, adjusting and dreaming on.

A sequel to ‘The Flood’ is done, and just needs a tad more editing. It’ll be included in a collection of shorts with other works like ‘The Bear’ and ‘The Coma Cave’.

I’m perhaps 33% through ‘The Cave at Hobbs End’, a novella about a small town that everyone forgets when they leave it. Like most small towns, you know?

I am well underway in brainstorming for a sequel to ‘The Shift’. I did NOT intend to write a sequel to it, as I considered the story was well done and all good. Reese earned his happiness, right? Turns out the universe wasn’t done with him, and I keep revisiting him in my spare thoughts. Now I know the grand strokes of what happens to him next. It’s tentatively titled ‘Echoes of the Shift’.

Last would be the sequel to ‘Run Deep’, called ‘Run Far’. In this continuation of the zombie apocalypse, we focus on dogs instead of dolphins…but as I’ve mentioned before, it’s extremely hard to write because I’m too emotional with animals being hurt or mistreated, and trying to envision some of the scenes to relate accurately is a grind. I will get there, but this one has really been a challenge to keep working on.

All of these things are coming! Enjoy your Leap Day!
